Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) conducted the examination  Sub Inspectors Exam in the State on May 23rd, 24th, 2015. The examination comprised 140 questions, each carrying one mark. The examination to test the competency of the candidates in various subjects and languages lasted for two-and-a-half hours. The TNUSRB will conduct the written test for police department candidates on May 24th,  Over 1,500 police constables. 


Stages of the Recruitment : 

i. All the eligible candidates will be called for Written Examination.


ii. Amongst the candidates clearing the Written Examination, the number of candidates called for second stage of Certificate Verification, Physical Measurement Test, Endurance Test and Physical Efficiency Tests will be in the ratio of 1:5 i.e. the number of candidates called for second stage will be restricted to 5 times the number of vacancies in each quota/category.


iii. Only the candidates clearing the Certificate Verification will be allowed to participate in Physical Measurement Test.


iv. The candidates who qualify in Physical Measurement Test alone will be allowed to attend Endurance Test.


v. The candidates who qualify in Endurance Test alone will be allowed to attend Physical Efficiency Test.


vi. Candidates who qualify in Physical Efficiency Test will be called for Viva-Voce in the ratio of 1:2 i.e. the number of candidates called for Viva-Voce will be restricted to 2 times the number of vacancies in each quota/category.





More than 8,000 candidates, including over 600 women, appeared for the written exam for recruitment of Sub Inspectors in Coimbatore, The Nilgiris and Tirupur on May 23rd and 24th, 2015. The candidates were thoroughly checked before they entered the examination halls and the proceedings of the examinations were video recorded.


In Coimbatore, 7,236 candidates, including 503 women, had applied for the exam. A total of 6,008 candidates - 5,613 men and 395 women - wrote the examination at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex. As many as 1,228 candidates, including 108 women, were absent.  In Tirupur, 2,504 had applied for the exam and 333 of them were absent. A total of 2,171 candidates, including 215 women, wrote the examination at Jaivabai Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School. A total of 274 department candidates will write the exam at LRG College on May 24th, 2015.


Of the 550 candidates who applied for the exam in The Nilgiris, 443 of them appeared for the exam at Rex School and Government College. Over 1,300 candidates out of the total 9,963 candidates who had applied for recruitment of Sub-Inspectors of Police absented themselves for the written examination conducted in the district on May 23rd, 2015. Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) conducted the examination for both for male and female candidates at 10 centres in the district.




Twenty per cent of the total posts would be reserved for departmental candidates. Successful candidates of the examination would be called for physical tests. As many as 7,326 candidates took up the written examination for the post of Sub-Inspectors held in five centres in the district on May 23rd,2015


The Tamil Nadu Unified Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) had conducted the examination across the State for filling up 1,078 vacancies of Sub-Inspector of Police in TN Police Subordinate Services for 2015. A total of 1,235 applicants failed to attend the examination held on May 23rd, 2015

As many as 5,021 candidates appeared for the written examinations held here for the recruitment of police sub-inspectors conducted by the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB). The examinations were held in four centres in Tiruchi district. Out of 5,942 candidates, who were given hall tickets for the examinations, 921 candidates failed to turn up. The examinations for the candidates, who are in police service, will be held on May 24th, 2015.

About 524 candidates are expected to take part in the examinations, for which arrangements have been made in two centres such as M.A.M. College of Engineering and K. Ramakrishnan College of Technology. In Karur, 1,290 candidates took the written examinations. As many as 238 candidates were absent. Permission had been given for 174 departmental candidates to sit for the examinations on May 24th, 2015. 


As many as 2,965 candidates from Tiruvannamalai district and 5,146 from Vellore district sat for the examination to fill the vacant posts of Sub Inspector of police, on May 23rd, 2015. Out of 3,418 total candidates 453 are absentees. Superintendent of Police J.Mutharasi inspected the centres.


Out of 5,947 candidates called for the exams 801 are absentees. The May 23rd,’s exam was meant for general candidates. On May 24th,, another phase of the exam meant to fill the same sub inspector of police vacancies will be held, in which only candidates from police department would take part.


As may as 2,642 candidates appeared for the written examination held in Tuticorin on May 23rd, for recruitment of Sub Inspectors conducted by Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB). A total of 3,068 candidates received hall tickets to write the exam in Tuticorin. The two-and-a-half hour exam consisted of objective type questions.


In Tirunelveli, 978 candidates out of 6,437 were absent for the examination, Tirunelveli Superintendent of Police V. Vikraman said. The exams were conducted in ten exam centres in Tirunelveli City. A total of 467 out of 2,783 candidates, who had applied for recruitment to the post of Sub Inspector conducted by the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board in Kanyakumari district, absented themselves from appearing for the written test conducted on May 23rd, 2015. 


The test would be held for 282 policemen, who have completed five years of service, on May 24th, at the S.T. Hindu College.
