Mahatma Gandhi University has invited applications on www.mgu.ac.in or www.cat.mgu.ac.in for the Common Admission Test (CAT-MGU) for admissions to the following postgraduate programmes offered by its teaching departments and Inter-school Centre. Registration fee for general candidates is Rs.500 and for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes is Rs.250 which has to be paid online. Submit a single application and give options for admission to various programmes. Online registration facilities are provided up to June 8. The entrance examination will be held on June 20 and 21 and the result will be published on July 3. Admission counselling will be held on July 13, 14 and 15. 


The PG programmes offered by the teaching departments are M.Sc. Chemistry (Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Polymer Science); M.Sc. Physics; M.Sc. Biochemistry; M.Sc. Microbiology; M.Sc. Biotechnology; M.Sc. Biophysics; M.Sc. Environment Science and Management; M.Sc. Environment Science and Disaster Management; MA Malayalam; MA English; MA Politics & International Relations; MA Politics and Human Rights; MA Politics (Public Policy and Governance); MA Gandhian Studies; MA Development Studies; MA History; MA Anthropology; M.Sc. Disability Studies and Rehabilitation Science; M.Sc. Psychology; M.Sc. Computer Science; Master of Tourism Management (MTM) with specialisation in Aviation Management, Tour Operations and Health Tourism; M.Ed. (English, Malayalam, Hindi, Arabic, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Commerce, and Information Technology); and LLM.


The programme offered by the Inter-school Centre is MA Economics. The prospectus is published on www.mgu.ac.in. Admissions are based on the score in the Common Admission Test. For M.Ed. programmes, score in entrance test and marks for qualifying examination will be considered for preparing the rank list. The test will be a 90-minute multiple choice type test for all programmes, except for those in School of Letters, School of Tourism Studies, and School of Indian Legal Thought for which both multiple choice and descriptive type question will be asked.
