The Potti Sriramulu Telugu University officials are unable to start the process of admission to its various courses for the next academic year till the air of uncertainty over its bifurcation is cleared. The Governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are yet to take a call on how to proceed with the division of Telugu University, which has completed 30 years of its existence.
Ideally, notifications for fresh courses have to be issued by May along with the student prospectus and admission to various courses of Telugu University should be over by June. However, this year, things are uncertain, as there is no Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TS and AP, which will allow the University to provide admissions to students from all the regions for the next academic year.
“The AP govt. has not given any clarity on whether they want to start a new University. We are also waiting for a feedback on this issue from the TS govt. The University falls under the 10th schedule of State Reorganisation Act and we are bound by certain rules. We are awaiting for a clear cut decision,” said outgoing Vice-Chancellor of Telugu University Elluri Siva Reddy. http://teluguuniversity.ac.in.
