About 40,041 students, including 20,508 girls, would take the SSLC public examination in Tiruchi district, commencing on March 19. Of the candidates, 24,887 would appear for the exam in Tiruchi educational district, 6,685 in Lalgudi education district, and 8,469 in Musiri educational district. Ninety differently abled students, including 59 visually challenged, would appear for the exam. Fifty-nine teachers had been appointed scribes for the visually challenged students.

District Collector K.S. Palanisamy said all necessary arrangements had been made for the smooth conduct of the exams. About 140 head masters had been appointed chief invigilators for supervising the exam apart from about 2,150 invigilators. Flying squads with about 215 teachers had been formed to check for irregularities. Arrangements had been made for the safe transport of question papers and answer sheets, he said in a release.

Exams would be conducted in 110 designated centres and the question papers were kept under safe custody in eight centres.

A total of 58,091 students will appear for the SSLC examination in Vellore district commencing on Thursday. In Vellore Education District, 28,474 students - 14,183 boys and 14,291 girls - from 276 schools will appear for the exam in 106 centres.


A total of 29,617 students – 15,004 boys and 14,613 girls – from 316 schools will appear for the exam in 98 centres in Tirupattur Education District, officials said.


Hence, a total of 29,187 boys and 28,904 girls will be writing the SSLC examinations across the district.


There are six private centres in Vellore and five in Tirupattur education districts. While 2,118 persons have been posted as invigilators for the exams in Vellore, 1,862 will don the role in Tirupattur.


There will be flying squads comprising 180 members in Vellore and 116 members in Tirupattur.


The officials pointed out that there were 21 custodian points across the district where question papers were kept – nine in Tirupattur and 12 in Vellore. There are two collection points in the district.


Twenty five route officers in Tirupattur and 18 route officers in Vellore will take care of transporting question papers from the custodian points to exam centres, and later collect the answer scripts and hand over at collection points.


Officials said all arrangements for the examination have been put in place at the examination centres such as uninterrupted power supply, drinking water facility and toilets.


At Tiruvannamalai: As many as 35,508 students will write the SSLC exams in Tiruvannamalai district. Of them 17,743 are boys and 17,765 are girls.


Tiruvannamalai district is composed of two educational districts namely Tiruvannamalai and Cheyyar. In Tiruvannamalai Educational District 7,354 boys and 7,871 girls will write the exams while in Cheyyar educational district 4,280 boys and 4,942 girls appear for this exam.

Students from 459 schools will be writing the exams in 113 centres in Tiruvannamalai. For every 20 candidates there would be an invigilator and for ten invigilators there would be a standing squad. Apart from these there would also be six moving squads led by officials, said P.Ponnaiah, Chief Educational Officer.


Arrangements are in place for SSLC annual public exams scheduled to commence from Thursday. As many as 26,794 students, including 13, 196 boys and 13, 598 girls, are expected to appear for the exam.


Eighty-four exam centres, including 55 in Tuticorin educational district and 29 in Kovilpatti educational district, had been arranged, sources from the Department of Education said here on Wednesday. Totally, 1,400 teachers had been deputed to supervise exam halls. Among Tuticorin revenue district, a total of 16,841 students, including 8,185 boys and 8,656 girls, would take the exam in Tuticorin and 9,953 students, including 5011 boys and 4,942, girls would appear in Kovilpatti. Twenty-seven differently abled students would also sit for the exam.


In Tuticorin, 22 scribes were allowed to write for the differently abled students. Besides, 1,053 private candidates, including 715 candidates in Tuticorin, would also write the public exam in the district.

As many 48,279 students are set to take the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) public examinations, which will begin on Thursday with Language Paper I.


According to officials, of the total students, 37,620 will be taking the examination in Coimbatore Educational District, 8,833 students at Pollachi Educational District with the rest being private candidates.


The examinations are being conducted at a total of 145 centres, of which 101 are in Coimbatore and 36 at Pollachi with rest being for private candidates spread across both the educational districts. More than 2,500 invigilators will be pressed into examination duty. As many as 240 flying squads have been constituted to crackdown on malpractices.
