Elaborate arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the Post-Graduate Medical Entrance Test (PGMET) - 2015 of NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) on March 1. The university is conducting the test online for the first time for admissions to MD, MS and diploma courses for the academic year 2015-16 in colleges affiliated to NTRUHS. As many as 13,442 students will appear for examination at 44 centres in Telangana and AP, NTRUHS Vice-Chancellor Dr. T. Ravi Raju told reporters here on Friday. The test will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. during which students have to answer 200 objective type questions. “Candidates will be allowed to enter the hall from 8.30 a.m. to 9.15 a.m. to explain them about the examination process and take their photograph and thumb impression. We will not allow candidates inside after 9.15 a.m.,” he added.
The university will release the answer key on March 1, and candidates can access it on the university website. They can also email their objections from March 1 to 2. The final key will be released on March 7, and the results will be announced on the same day, according to Mr. Raju. He said issuing of hall-tickets had begun, and that candidates could get print-outs from the website even on March 1.
“We are taking necessary measures to prevent malpractices. Mobile phones and wallets will not be allowed inside the hall,” he said. The university is confident of conducting the online test in a foolproof manner as the modalities had been worked out after a detailed study of similar patterns of examinations, Mr. Raju said steps would be taken to install mobile phone jammers at the examination centres.
