Following the announcement of dates for various Common Entrance Tests (CETs), including EAMCET by AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman L. Venugopal Reddy on Monday, the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) Chairman, T. Papi Reddy asserted that it would conduct EAMCET separately and accused APSCHE of acting unilaterally. He said the AP government would take the current row over conduct of EAMCET exam to the notice of Centre and it was for the latter to ensure that the AP Reorganisation Act was implemented.

Mr. Srinivasa Rao said that he had recently spoken to his Telangana counterpart, G. Jagadishwar Reddy for a meeting to discuss the conduct of common EAMCET. The State government asserted that it would administer EAMCET-2015 but would include an AP representative in the committee that would oversee conduct of the admission test.

The Telangana government replaced the term ‘Andhra Pradesh’ with ‘Telangana’ in the rules governing the conduct of EAMCET, citing provisions of the AP State Reorganisation Act. The order reads that the representative of AP will be included in the panel chaired by a nominee of the TS government, for conducting EAMCET in AP, and subsequent admission process for 15 per cent unreserved open category seats.
