Osmania University has announced the postponement of semester examinations for postgraduate students to December 8 after they sat on a day-long dharna outside the university’s administration office, demanding postponement of the examinations.
More than 50 students gathered outside the building demanding the university administration to postpone semester examinations scheduled to start from December 2 to December 20, 2014. While students alleged that the syllabus for the semester has not been completed in many departments, the university authorities said that the students demanded extension in view of approaching competitive examinations.
Students sat outside the building in the presence of nearly half-a-dozen policemen, but no untoward incident was reported. The university officials have postponed the examinations to December 8. Third semester and first semester exams of MA, M.Com., M.Sc., MSW, MPED, B.LiSc. and M.LiSc., which were scheduled to be held from December 2 have been postponed and will be held from December 8,” informed the varsity Registrar, E.
